The Candidates for the Republican Party that are on the 2010 General Election Ballot on November 2, 2010, were decided in the Republican Primary held on February 2, 2010. The Primary was a hard-fought battle by many, but in the end we all stand united behind our Republican Candidates. We are asking you for your vote so we can take back the House, Sentate, Illinois General Assembly, the Office of Governor and all executive offices, as well as keeping Kendall County Red. Federal and State Candidates:
U.S. Senate: Mark Kirk
Mark Kirk represents the 10th Congressional District of Illinois, located in the suburbs north of Chicago. Now in his fifth term, Congressman Kirk is a member of the powerful House Appropriations Committee and is co-chairman of the moderate GOP Tuesday Group and the bipartisan House US-China Working Group.
Governor: Bill Brady
Bill Brady is currently a Republican member of the Illinois Senate, representing the 44th Legislative District since his appointment in May, 2002. He previously served in the Illinois House of Representatives, representing the 88th District from 1993 to 2000.
Lt. Governor: Jason Plummer
Jason Plummer is a businessman in Edwardsville, Illinois. He serves as Vice President for R.P. Lumber Company, a family-owned and operated business. Jason also works in related personal and family businesses. Jason is proud of the fact that R.P. Lumber and related businesses are involved in creating and maintaining more than 1,000 quality jobs throughout Illinois.
Attorney General: Steve Kim
Steve Kim is currently the chairman of the Korean Coalition of the Midwest. Previously, Kim has served on the boards of the American Cancer Society (Northeast Unit), Northeastern Illinois University Foundation, Korean American Community Services and the Illinois State Treasurer Judy Baar Topinka Asian Pacific American Advisory Council.
Secretary of State: Robert Enriquez
Robert Enriquez has a BS in Management Science from Case Western Reserve University and an International Marketing MBA from Baldwin-Wallace College. Robert has served our nation as a US Marine officer and has specialized training from military schools here and in Europe. His business experience includes successful international management for Fortune firms, start-ups and small business ventures. In 2005 Mr. Enriquez was appointed to a state-mandated Republican seat on the Illinois Human Rights Commission. As Commisioner he sustains, modifies and reverses adjudicated punitive and damage complaints throughout the State under the Illinois Human Rights Act.
Treasurer: Dan Rutherford
Dan Rutherford is distinguished by a legislative career of accomplishment. He was first elected to the Illinois Senate in 2002. In 2009 he was appointed Assistant Republican Leader. His Senate career follows a 10-year term in the Illinois House of Representatives, where he served as the Assistant Republican Leader. As a member of the Senate, Mr. Rutherford is the ranking Republican serving on the Financial Institutions Committee and also serves on the bipartisan Joint Committee on Administrative Rules.
Comptroller: Judy Baar Topinka
Judy Baar Topinka was elected Illinois State Treasurer on November 8, 1994, becoming the first woman in Illinois to hold this post. She also become the first Republican to be elected State Treasurer in 32 years. Ms. Topinka made history again in November, 1998 as she won a second term as State Treasurer, becoming the first woman to re-elected to a statewide office. Winning re-election to a third term as Illinois State Treasuer in 2002, she became the first State Treasurer to win three consecutive terms.
U.S. Congress - 14th Congressional District: Randy Hultgren
State Senator Randy Hultgren has represented the 48th District, which is comprised of DuPage, Kane and Will Counties and all or part of Batavia, Geneva, Naperville, North Aurora, Warrenville, West Chicago, Wheaton and Winfield, in the Illinois State Senate since 2007. Randy, who has lived in the district for most of his life, serves as the Republican Spokesman on the Telecommunications and Technology Committee, and also serves on the Judiciary Civil Law Committee, Financial Institutions Committee, Elections Committee, Labor Committee, Revenue Committee, as well as the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules.
State Senate - 25th District: Chris Lauzen
Chris Lauzen has served in the Illinois State Senate since his election in 1992. During his years of service, Senator Lauzen has championed issues that matter to families and businesses. His vision for government is based upon his abiding faith and the capacity of people to see good beyond the horizon and the dicipline to make the journey.
State Representative - 50th District: Kay Hatcher
Kay Hatcher is seeking her second term as State Representative. Kay was once a member of the Kendall County Board, and currently serves on active committees that offer the opportunity to be of great help to the 50th District: Aging, Transportation, Regulation of Roads and Bridges, Vehicles and Safety, Tourism, Appropriations for Public Safety and Counties and Townships.
State Representative - 84th District: Tom Cross
Tom Cross is the Minority Leader in the Illinois House of Representatives and represents the 84th District. Representative Cross was first elected in 1992. His District includes Northeastern Oswego Township in Kendall County, portions of Troy and Wheatland Townships in Will County, Plainfield Township in Will County and part of Naperville Township in DuPage County.
County Candidates:
Kendall County Treasurer: Jill Ferko
Jill Ferko is the current County Treasurer. The County Treasurer's responsibilities include the statutory duties required as County Treasurer for the County of Kendall and as Ex-Officio County Collector of Real Estate Property Taxes and Drainage District Taxes for the entire county.
Kendall County Clerk: Debbie Gillette
Debbie Gillette is the incumbant Kendall County Clerk. She was first elected in 2008 to fill the vacancy of Paul Anderson, and she is seaking her first full term. Ms. Gillette is extremely active in the community. The County Clerk's duties include filing marriage licenses, birth and death certificates, tax extensions and business licenses. The County Clerk is the keeper of the County Board minutes, ordinances and resolutions. The County Clerk also coordinates all staffing, judges and equipment necessary for elections.
Kendall County Sheriff: Richard Randall
Sheriff Randall is the current County Sheriff here in Kendall County, where he as served since 1986. He is also a Captain with the Bristol-Kendall Fire Department, Co-Chairman of the Kane Kendall United Way, member of the Yorkville Lions Club and the Kendall County Historical Society. With both law enforcement and fire service experiences here in Kendall County, he has seen just about everything most people would not care to, and has had the training to meet those challenges.
Kendall-Grundy Regional Superintendent of Schools: Paul Nordstrom
Paul Nordstrom is the incumbant Regional Superintendant of the Kendall-Grundy Regional Office of Education, where he has been since 2007. He is currently a member of the Illinois Association of Regional School Superintendants, Illinois Association of School Administrators, and the Illinois Valley Association of School Business Officials.
Kendall County Board District 1:
Nancy Martin
Nancy Martin has served on the County Board for ten years, where she has served on a wide variety of commitees, such as Public Safety for ten years and PB & Z for two years. She was the Judical/Legislative Chair for 1 year, Finance Committee Chair for two years, and has also served on the Facilites Management, Forest Preserve, Highway, Old Courthouse Ad Hoc, Jail Ad Hoc and HHS Building Ad Hoc Committees.
John Purcell
John Purcell has been a member of the Kendall County Board since 2002 and is the current Vice Chairman. Among his many committee assignments, John is Chairman of the Finance Committee, which is in charge of forming the budget for Kendall County. In addition to his activities on the Board, John is the owner of ACE Hardware in Yorkville and Oswego and is a member of St. Patrick's Church in Yorkville.
Kendall County Board District 2:
Anne Vickery
Anne Vickery is the current Kendall County Board Chairman, and has been since 2008. Anne became the first woman to serve as chairman of the Countyu Board. She is a 13-year member of the board and has experience heading various committees including Planning Building and Zoning, Judicial Legislative, Economic Development and Animal Control.
Jesse Hafenrichter
Jesse Hafenrichter has served on the Kendall County Board since 2002, where she currently serves as Chairman of the Human Relations & Administration and Revenue Committee and a member of the Judicual Legislative, Facilities Management, Forest Preserve and Ad Hoc Building Committees. In addition to her service on the County Board, she has also served on the Tax Board of Review for 29 years andt he Mental Health Board for eight years.
Dan Koukol
Dan Koukol is seeking to be elected to the Kendall Countyu Board. He is a small business owner, DK Trailer and Tractor, and an active member of the Kendall County Republican Party. His community involvement includes many activities, such as being the Vice Chairman of the Eastern Townships for the Kendall County Young Republicans.
